Story
Most of you are here because you’ve known my wonderful Grandmother in some way - whether you've known her for years or only met her briefly, you will understand the profound impact she has had on so many lives. Her years of dedication to the Church of England across multiple parishes have left an enduring legacy of faith, service, and love.
In November 2024, our family received the heartbreaking news that my Nan had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. It has shaken us deeply. And yet, through the trials and challenges of MND, Nan continues to greet everyone with her unwavering smile and a heart full of pure love. Her faith has never faltered - it has remained her constant strength.
When Nan was finally ready to share her diagnosis with the many people who know and care for her, the response was overwhelming. Her home was filled with flowers - it looked like a florist! It was in that moment that I thought: how sad it would be if this extraordinary woman left us without fully knowing the extent of her influence, the love people hold for her, and the joy she brings into the lives of others.
Too often, we wait until someone is gone to gather, to remember, and to celebrate them. But not this time.
I have been working closely with the Cathedral in Worcester and am so pleased to say that we now have a date for a Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration in my Nan’s name - a joyful gathering where all of us who know and love her can come together, not in mourning, but in gratitude for her life.
We welcome all donations in support of this.
