I've raised £1000 to help fund a new garden at the school. This garden will help students to connect with the natural environment and learn new skills.

The Leigh Academy would like to build a school garden for students and the community to enjoy. There is a vast mound in front of the school and it is our goal to transform it into a living outdoor classroom. With a school garden, students can develop deeper relationships with the Earth and our environment. They can learn how to grow foods, harvest them, and prepare them as part of the learning curriculum. Having a garden at the school is also a great place for students to relax and enjoy a natural space, promoting mental health and well-being. It is a place of learning how to work well with others, grow relationships and promote environmental responsibility. The Leigh Academy is working in partnership with Dartford Friends of the Earth to teach students how to care for the environment and to provide students with the opportunity to better understand their relationship with the natural world.
