Story
Raising Money For Leighton Hospital Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit
Leighton Hospital in Crewe has previously won awards for having one of the best maternity suites in the country. Within this unit is the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit, which relays heavily on donations to contribute to the much needed equipment that is needed.
To suddenly find out your child requires the care of the NICU, would be a huge shock for any parent, but to know that your child is being cared for with the best equipment and staff would definately help ease some of the many fears the parents would be thinking and hopefully with that care and equipment all babies can be nursed back to health.
Heartbreakingly, some births result in angel babies, and knowing that the hospital you are at has the best facilities and trained staff to deal with these tragic and life changing moments, at a time when parents cannot comprehend what has happened is crucial. These parents will remember for the rest of their lives the time they had with their angel baby as well as the support, and care they were given and it is vital the unit have enough funding to be able to purchase all the essential equipment needed, and have the best training to be able to support parents going through this horrendous time.
Most of us will know people who have used the Materenity Unit at Leighton, and indeed the Neo Natal Care Unit, and as way of saying thank you to all the amazing work that they do, and to enable them to carry on buying the equipment that they need I have set up this fund raising page to run alongside an event that is being run at work for the same charity.
If you would like to donate to raising money for this amazing cause then please feel free to donate. I have spoken to the ward this morning and to ensure that they receive all the money raised they have asked that I set up my own page, and then take all the money raised to their ward where they will ensure all funds raised will be paid directly in the NICU account.
So if you have either had an amazing experience at Leighton Maternity Ward and/or the NICU and want to show your thanks and support not only for the care you have been given but for other families who need that extra help, or want to show your support for people that you know that have had to use the NICU, or simply want to donate to such a worthy and potentially life saving cause then please use the donate button on this page.
And to show additional support, if you want to leave a message to the unit/maternity ward at the same time as donating then please feel free as will ensure the nurses/department get to read all the messages.
My work will match pound for pound any money that is raised on this site, so lets all get donating and thank you so much to everyone who does. By knowing your money will go straight to the NICU ward you know you have contributed to helping our local hopsital, Leighton Hospital provide the care and support they need to not just babies but their parents as well.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DO DONATE :)

This place has a special place in my heart after little Merrin spent so long in there and they supported her and helped her on her way to becoming the wonderful bouncing baby she is today!
