Story

On 16th July, we (Craig and Chris) will be setting off on our journey to cycle 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats.

Although this is something that we've both wanted to do for a long time, we feel we can't do it without raising money for a worthy cause, or in this case, causes.

Bootle Bucks Inclusion Football Club

Bootle Bucks Inclusion FC was set up in April 2018 with a view to offering football coaching to local, challenged children who had little or no access to organised football sessions or a place to train, keep fit and enjoy socialising with other youngsters with similar challenges. From an initial membership of 16 people we now have over 130 active members aged from 4 years old to 38 years old.

We have teams playing regularly in the Liverpool Ability County's League at Under 13, Under 16 and Open Age. In our first season we are pleased to say that our teams won league titles in all age groups. A massive step up and a confidence booster for youngsters who had little or no previous experience of playing in or being part of a team.

Our little club grew so much in our first year that we were nominated for the North West Football Awards, a prestigious professional football award and we were the only non-professonal club in attendance. We were very pleased and happy to win the 'Promoting Inclusion' award, a great achievement for such a young club and one of which we are extremely proud. We also won the LCFA Disability Club of the Year in the summer of 2019 which further proved to us that Bootle Bucks Inclusion FC was heading in the right direction and providing a valuable service for our children and parents.

Although successful, Bootle Bucks is run completely by volunteers and depends solely on donations and fund raising events by generous parties who wish to support our cause. Any help is greatly appreciated and goes directly back into the club in the form of footballs, equipment, kit and supplies for the children.

Sefton Community Pantry

Sefton Community Pantry is a not for profit CIC which is, like Bootle Bucks, run entirely by volunteers. SCP helps to support local vulnerable families with food, hygiene equipment and craft materials.

We rely heavily on on the local community supporting us with donations of supplies or funds, these are essential in keeping our wonderful community of people going. Sefton Community Pantry are so very grateful for any little bit of help that can be given, whether its a few pennies, a tin of beans or an hour of your time, every little helps!

During lockdown, we have given out an estimated 12 tonnes of food, an unprecedented amount that is only achieved through the power of community. The majority of food that has been given out has been bought with donated funds from the generous people around us.

Any funds that are raised through this campaign will go towards essential food, clothing, hygiene items and other equipment that may be needed for our local vulnerable families

Thank You!

If you do choose to donate, Thank you!!! You're helping to make a massive difference to our local vulnerable families and surrounding community! Please share this page far and wide and lets get as much support as possible!
