    Story

Limb loss or impairment following an accident or illness is a fact of life,
Limbcare is a young charity formed in 2010 with old fashioned values and modern ideas. We offer hope, help and support to amputees, the limb impaired and those affected around them. We are in the process of raising funds to build the first of many well being centres throughout the UK, to develop contact points within the amputee community and to expand our existing facilities and initiatives.

    Our Vision
With the increase in recent years of people having or living with amputations through diabetes, meningitis and septicaemia and our NHS facing the challenge of increased financial pressures to deliver services, it is our vision to build a purpose built centre that will help to fill a much needed support network for the future.
As part of the transition back into the real world, after an amputation and the realisation of everything being turned upside down, both physically and emotionally it can be for many too much to bear. It was during that emotional experience that Ray Edwards MBE being a quad amputee himself saw the vision of Limbcare, part of his vision was to aid and support fellow human beings in the rebuilding their lives.

Ultimately, the charities aim is to create a purpose built well being centre to enable amputees, their families and carers to live in an enhanced environment for a short period of time when needed, where they can gain the support, to help them recover from the effects of both physical and emotional trauma. The purpose of the centre is create an environment where individuals are able to gain a better understanding of their disability all under one roof. It will also enable them meet other amputees and those suffering from limb impairments to see a more positive side of living with a physical disability therefore creating a better quality of life.
