In 2029, I'll be joining a Scout conservation expedition to Costa Rica, where I'll help protect endangered sea turtles, restore rainforest habitats and support vital wildlife conservation. Before I can get there, I need to raise £3,895 over the next three years, and my first milestone is £1,215 by 13 August 2026.

Rather than simply asking for donations, I want to earn your support :)

That's why I'm taking on a personal challenge: seven days of litter picking in my local community spending five hours each day collecting rubbish - a total of 35 hours. From Wednesday 5 August to Wednesday 12 August, I'll be out making a visible difference to my local area (Ramsgate, Kent) while working towards my fundraising goal. I'll also be sharing daily photos and updates so you can follow my progress and see how many bags of litter I've collected.

If successful, this expedition will give me the opportunity to take part in real conservation work in one of the world's most biodiverse countries. I'll help protect nesting sea turtles and care for hatchlings, carry out biodiversity surveys and camera trapping, learn scientific data collection techniques, and plant native trees alongside local communities to restore habitats and help tackle climate change. I'll also have the chance to work with local people through shared conservation projects, learning from each other while helping to protect Costa Rica's incredible natural environment.

Every pound donated goes directly towards the costs of the expedition, including conservation project fees, training, equipment and travel.
