After raising money last year for the SSPCA & Islay Dog Rescue, I was inspired to do more to help. As of January 2016, I became secretary of Islay Dog Rescue who save the lives of street dogs and dogs on death row, by rehabilitating and rehoming them with loving families.

My responsibilities are advertising, PR, Social Media and all website updates. I also help with replying to emails/messages & fundraising.

I am proud that we have managed to rehome 75 dogs this year which takes us to over 500 since the rescue was established in 2011. With only having 10 kennels, this is a fantastic achievement.

I have learned a lot about rescue dogs, breeding and behaviours since joining the Islay Dog Rescue team and would now never hesitate to adopt a rescue dog...regardless of the breed! The stereotypes out there are complete nonsense.
