Leon was born in December 2010 with a Congenital Heart Defect. He had his first surgery at 6 months old and his second at 14 months old. He is regularly checked by the team at LGI and continues to hold steady with his condition. He will need more interventions in the future as it is a potentially life limiting condition.

In 2019 he was lucky to have his wish granted by Make a Wish to visit Kennedy Space Centre and Disney in Florida in 2020. Sadly the Pandemic arrived and the trip was cancelled. A further telephone call brought more sad news that the trip had been withdrawn and wouldnt be offered again due to financial and logistical issues.

This would have been a trip of a lifetime for Leon, he loves Space and wants to train as an astronaught. He met Helen Sharman at The Moon festival in Wakefield, which has made him more determined to find out more about planets and space travel. We would love to be able to fund Leons wish, but need some help to do this. Leon has started to fund raise by selling Sunflower seeds from seeds that his teacher gave him last year just before the original lockdown. Sales have been wonderful, but we have run out of seeds! It would be amazing if we could send Leon to Florida to meet his heros and grant his wish.
