    Story

I have had very little mobility for over a year since an accident that left me in a wheelchair, worsened by the fact that I also suffer from fibromyalgia, sciatica, depression and anxiety/panic attacks. I have had 2 rounds of spinal surgery since July 2015.

Because of my housing circumstances, I still live in my one bedroom flat, which is not designed for disabled people. I need the following equipment to restore some sense of normality, new wheelchair, ramps for my flat and a hoist installed to get my wheelchair into the car and hand controls to allow me to drive unassisted. I have been housebound for the majority of time since my accident in May 2015, as I have to rely on the kindness others to help me get out of the flat. Being able to have small practical changes would give me some of the independence I have lost, and help me to have some independence.

I need a wheelchair that has 5"/12-13cm front wheels as the one that has been loaned to me has 8"/20cm front wheels and is very difficult to manoeuvre in my flat, the front wheels are too large to get the wheelchair from room to room without hitting the door frames and it causes me great problems trying to turn in my hallway after I have left the bedroom, bathroom or kitchen, all of which lead into the narrow hallway.

The ramps are so I will be able to manoeuvre over the front door threshold, which is one of the obstacles that stops me getting out and about without assistance.

The hoist, a top box which electronically lifts and stores the wheelchair and automatically locks for added security is essential as I am unable to get the wheelchair in or out of the car without assistance. I also need to get my car adapted with hand controls as I have leg tremors which rule out using the foot pedals.
Any help that you can give is HUGELY appreciated. Thank you for taking your time to read this, I would be very happy to answer any questions you have.
