I've raised £5500 to Help send a blind man from the UK to a pioneering 'Eye Restoration' Clinic in Berlin

Colin is a very dear friend of mine who sadly lost his eyesight in January 2018. He is 73 years old and the loss of his eyesight was a very sudden and complete shock to us all. Prior to Colin loosing his eyesight he was a really happy guy who would spread fun to all of those who knew him. Always ready with a cheeky story or observation of his surroundings he would have people laughing out loud. He was very social and could never do enough for the people that he knew and would take on any task that may help others. He used his lifelong skills as a Joiner to help those who knew him or anyone who simply needed help. A keen fisherman and Gardner he always kept himself extremly busy. Sadly his life as he knew it has now completely disappeared .
When he was discharged from hospital he was told that he would be registered as blind and that there was nothing that could be done for him through the NHS. It was devestating. However through research we have discovered an 'Eye Restoration' Clinic in Berlin. This clinic is known to the RNIB and has proven Medical Trials that show improvement for people like Colin. I would dearly love to give Colin the opportunity to receive treatment that may help him regain some of his old life back. At present his life is very small and dark and any amount of sight restoration would make a huge difference to Colin's life.
Blindness has taken away the life that Colin knew and left him in a very different world. He never moan's or looks for sympathy but he cannot help but get down at times. Although it is obvious that he keeps a lot to himself. I know that he would be humbled and extremely moved that people who do not even know him are willing to help fund a treatment that may give him some eyesight back. Thank you for reading this and I hope that you will think that this is a worthy cause.
