Hi folks please help me to raise funds in order that Cassidy can go to New York to achieve her dream of turning professional and becoming a Gleason's world champion! Cassidy is a fantastic young woman who has just graduated uni and has a real talent for boxing and a dream of being a champion. I've known her since she was 14. At 21 she has been boxing as an amateur for 6 years

At the end of July we went to New York on holiday. On our first full day we visited Gleason's boxing gym where Cassidy had a training session with Don Saxby. During this session she caught the eye of the other coaches who were very complimentary regarding her talent, boxing ability at such a young age, the fact that she fitted right in at the gym and that she had the potential to become a world champion!

Don spoke to me after the first session saying that he would like to coach her as his fighter, turn her professional and would it be possible for her to stay on a permanent basis. I was absolutely blown away by this. Don and the other coaches enthusiasm was very emotive.....He then coached Cassidy for a couple of hours everyday for the rest of our holiday. She sparred with 2 world champions and trained so hard everyday. He even had her training under the Brooklyn Bridge :)))

Don introduced us to Bruce Silverglade who owns Gleason's. Bruce wanted to do a letter of invitation for her and gave me a lawyer to contact in order to start the process of an application for a 3 year sports visa. He was also impressed about what he had heard about Cassidy from all of the coaches.

We visited the lawyer on the day we were coming home and started the application process. I'm so thrilled that Cassidy has been given a chance to fulfil her life's ambition at the most iconic boxing gym in the world. Bruce spoke to us on the last day and said it was a wonderful opportunity and that he was happy to help her in any way he could. The legal team are now busy working on making the strongest case for Cassidy's application. There were quite a few tears on the last day too :))

On Monday 16th September Cassidy is going back out to New York on a 90 day visitors visa which allows her to box as an amateur. As she is going back initially on a visitors visa she will not be able to earn any money therefore we are fundraising to cover her living and coaching costs. Myself and hubby have her legal fees and gym membership costs covered.

I am hoping that in the future when she goes out on her sports visa we will be able to get her a full time sponsor to help support her. If you know of anyone who would be able to sponsor on a more permanent basis, please let me know.

With the one on one coaching that she will get from Gleason's i'm absolutely confident she will reach her full potential and I think this is a real opportunity for us to help a super young person's dream come true!
