I'm raising £1,000 to help my mum and step dad.

They went for a holiday back to Scotland for 10 days to spend time with myself and my family and their new granddaughter. They left Scotland on Friday evening to travel back home to Spain, they got to France and just outside Bordeaux and their car broke down. They contacted there insurance who advised them to get a tow truck. In doing so the tow truck company has been very rude and their insurance company has not helped them in any way apart from get them 2 bus tickets home to Spain. They were left stranded in the middle of nowhere as the tow truck company took them back to their depot and left them there, they refused to take them anywhere or even phone a taxi for them to travel back to Bordeaux. The tow company told them they had to pay or their car would be impounded, so they had to pay out what money they had left to get their car towed. They have had to now get 3 buses back to Spain adding another 12-14 hour onto their journey to get home, my parents are pensioners who were stranded and had to leave absolutely everything in the car in France. They will need to go back to France to collect personal belongings and gifts from home but to do this they will need to hire a van and a driver to travel back to France from Spain to collect there belongings. I wouldn’t normally do something like this but just need a little bit help to get their belongings back. They have both been left devastated and distraught, and upset by all of this and no help from their insurance company, so I have set up this page to try help raise funds to get their things back since they have been left with nothing.
