Story

Two days ago, our world was turned upside down when our little dog Artie was brutally attacked in our own back garden by our neighbour’s XL Bully dogs.
The dogs jumped the fence and tore into Artie before we could stop them. My husband Harry tried to pull them off and ended up badly injuring his hand, needing treatment at A&E. The police acted swiftly and one of the attacking dogs has since been put down, but our baby boy Artie is now fighting for his life.
My mother-in-law (Harry's mum) described the incident on Facebook.
For over 24 hours, the emergency vets worked tirelessly to stabilise him, and he has now been transferred to a specialist hospital in Hampshire for surgery. His wounds are deep, and right now, he’s in severe pain and can barely lift his head.

Although we have pet insurance, it only covers the cost to a certain extent. As Artie’s condition is so serious, the total cost of treatment is estimated at £12,000. We have just moved to Shoreham a few weeks ago, using our savings to find a home and community for our family.
We’re asking for help from our community to save Artie’s life and give him the care he needs to recover. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us cover the mounting veterinary bills and keep Artie in hospital until he’s strong enough to come home.
If we raise more than the amount needed for his treatment, or if the final cost ends up being less than quoted, we will donate all remaining funds to local dog rescue charities and shelters to help other animals in need.
Artie is the sweetest, gentlest soul — a little dog who loves everyone he meets. He didn’t deserve this, and we’re determined to do everything we can to help him heal.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, sharing, and donating to help us bring Artie home.
