I'm raising £1000 to support St Leonard's Church, Whitsbury.

Story

Despite Church doors being shut for many months and opportunities to meet having been heavily curtailed, throughout lockdown we remained inventive and engaged for all the people of the village. During the first lockdown members of the congregation placed rainbow decorated pebbles with words of encouragement that could taken by anyone out on their daily exercise. And once permitted, as well as reopened doors for regular services, outdoor celebrations were held at Harvest and Easter for all ages. And at Christmas a travelling Nativity scene moved through the village, expressing hope even in the depths of the pandemic. But we've lost many of the fees which would have come through weddings and other events, or through the collection plate on a Sunday and we weren't able to hold fundraising events for 18 months. Help us raise the vital funds to meet the costs of sustaining this beautiful Church building and to enable us to keep supporting people near and far.
