Our 2 little boys were both born prematurely in Darlington hospital and both had to have special care treatment. Reegan was admitted straight to the special care baby unit on delivery, weighing 2lb14oz where he received amazing care for 4 weeks, followed by home care with an outreach team. Calvin also received special care due to low birth weight, 4lb 8oz, high levels of jaundice and also required a feeding tube. He was in hospital for a week.

We, as a family, will always be grateful to the staff at Darlington SCBU. The work that they do is truly amazing. They care for sick, small and premature babies or babies who need a little extra help with an extremely caring, confidential and compassionate nature. Keeping parents involved in their child's treatment at all times. Raising money for the unit is our way of saying thank you.
