Shatila refugee camp is a resident for a great number of Syrian and Palestinian refugees. The situation of the camp makes life very difficult for its people. The electricity extensions and infrastructures are very poor, the streets are crowded with cars, the blocks of houses are very close and there isn't a safe space for children to release their energy in between the slums.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is working on providing these kids with a safe space to allow them to express themselves and release the tension they live every day.

We are continuously looking to provide children with opportunities that go beyond the core subjects and basic education. We believe it is the right of children to participate in arts, sports, peace education, and after-school activities, for them to grow healthy and do better in their education and improve their mental and social abilities.
