Let’s Remember Dementia Day

Hi All,

Rich and I have 1 parent still with us living with Dementia both are in homes and generally being well cared for. I know we are not unique in what we are going to do and there are loads of similar sites out there doing the same.

However Rich and I aim to make this day an enjoyable worthwhile event that may bring the odd tear and a few laughs. Yes we do want to make money and yes we do you want an enjoyable day, but what we both want is for you all to join us and take from the day something that you may not have known about the subject.

As we live longer its effecting more of our families, But it’s not all doom and gloom after visiting mum and her friends in the home after 5 mins of having a bit of banter and talking about nonsense, all their lights come on !!! And they engage.

The day will start with some Physical activity a short walk from Tintinhull to Donyatt (Bowling club) ( villages from where Rich and I grew up, along the way a couple of pit stops ! Late Afternoon some Bingo and later a band and plenty to eat and more importantly loads to drink.

Rich and I will put on good day you can bank on that. We will also have some expert help on hand to advise and give practical help for those of us who think we know it all, believe me we don’t
