Following a life changing accident
Steve has been having respite stays at Leonard Cheshire accommodation. However since being taken over by Praxis he has been informed he is no longer eligible for this. To add further pressure the funding that was awarded for this purpose has been withdrawn Although they very much dislike asking for money Steve and Jan have a desperate need for funds.
Respite is very important for Steve as not only is it a break for him, it also gives him the peace of mind that Jan is getting a rest. Jan, by necessity is very involved in physical care despite having her own difficulties and injuries.... there is not enough care provision to allow her to not be.
Respite in a nursing home has been suggested as an option but this comes with a bill of at least £1500 Per week !!
So we are revamping and relaunching the page to help in whatever way we can.
Can you perhaps skip your daily shop bought coffee ? weekly take away? Or any other luxury, and spare some funds? Or would you consider a sponsored challenge or an event to raise more ? Take a minute to ponder how life can change unexpectedly and dramatically in the blink of an eye.
