Story
As most of you are already aware our beautiful boy Blair was born with an extremely rare chromosome duplication. So rare that we only know of one other person in the world that has the exact same duplication.
Blair is about to be discharged from his NHS physio despite so desperatly needing physio input. A recent MRI result shows that not only does Blair suffer from delay related to his chromosomes but he also has changes to his brain that will likely affect his lower limb mobility.
A year ago a wonderful friend told me about the Craighalbert centre- I had no idea how much it would change Blairs life. Craighalbert centre is partially government funded which meant we recieved early intervention classes for free up until Blair turns 3. These classes are run by teachers and physios who plan a play session that allows Blair the chance to explore his senses whilst pushing his body to try and achieve his targets.
When we first attended Blair was unable to sit upright for extended periods of time, couldnt crawl and struggled to explore his environment independently. Now we have a curious 2.5 year old who sits, crawls, pulls up to stand all by himself!! The change is just miraculous and i honestly feel like we owe a lot of it to Craighalbert.
Upon turning 3 years these early intervention classes are no longer free and cost £2000 per year. With Blairs 7 surgeries and copious amounts of hospital visits/stays I have been unable to return to work and therefore we just simply dont have £2000 to pay for Blair to attend come October. Blairs daddy, Adam, has decided to raise funds towards Blairs time at Craighalbert by running the 10K at the Great Scottish Run.
We would love it if you could find the time to donate to support our Wee B and his magical journey of life! It has been a tough ride for him so far but we have so much belief in him. Craighalbert is on of those wonderful things that makes him smile which is so important to have inbetween all the less enjoyable things he has to attend! If we smash the target any money made over and above will go towards the following year of terms at Craighalbert.
