Story
Hi. My name is Matthew Myers and I have recently been selected to represent the England U13 boys team at the World Indoor Cricket Federation Junior World Series tournament in Christchurch, New Zealand in September.
I started playing cricket when I was 8 at Ockbrook and Borrowash Cricket Club in one of their Kwiks teams. The following year I progressed to U11 hard ball which I played for 3 years. I currently represent OBCC at U13, U15 and in one of their senior teams. Additionally, I have also been a member of the Derbyshire U13 boys' team this season. Last season, I was selected to play for our local district team, Erewash. My coach for Erewash, Kieran Cooke, introduced me to Indoor cricket by playing in both the U14 and U16 leagues at Willows Sports Centre, Derby. This led to me taking part in the National League tournament in November where I was selected to take part in the national trials. I recently found out that I was successful and will be one of the 12 person squad making the journey to Christchurch.
Indoor cricket is an exciting and relatively new format of the game. It is currently unfunded, so participation in any tournaments is paid for by the players. It is because of this that I am asking if you would be able to help me fund this once in a lifetime experience.
Thank you for your support.
