I want to do something in memory of our daughter Anna who ended her own life in November 2018, and I want to do something about the state of my own mental and physical health, and invite others to join in for themselves and everyone out there struggling in 2020. Donations will be split between ACE Lancaster to support young people locally, and the Samaritans nationwide - a charity close to my own heart after they helped me personally in the run up to last Christmas 2019.

After arriving at our holiday cottage in Northumberland on World Mental Health Day, drinking a bottle of wine and scoffing a whole packet of biscuits, it suddenly seemed a good idea to Walk 500 Miles!! I'm going to give it my best shot between Saturday 10th October (World Mental Health Day) and Anna's Birthday on 7th January.
