I've raised £500 to Fund and recognise the Levens Christmas Tree in the heart of our village

The Village Christmas Tree for 2022 is up and finished
After the tree arrived from a sustainable source in Scotland, Michael, Paul and Helen worked until dark on Saturday, then for 4 hours on Sunday, to get the tree finished, complete with over 1600 lights & 250 hand made bows to be finished literally 5 minutes before the rain came.
Our colour theme this year of red, white and blue (NOT for the football World Cup , as we are asked today) to commemorate the long reign of Queen Elizabeth 2. We intend to send a picture and letter to the King and any response will be shared on the temporary notice board on The Green, for all to see.
Thankfully, the new LED lights purchased in 2021, are both spectacular and economical to run. Paul has worked out, the amount of time they are on, for the number of days, with a timer, it will cost less than £20 for electricity.
Thanks to Dave and Vanessa at the Shop for their usual community minded spirit and generosity as well as for facilitating the electricity connection. They are also hosting a donations tub in the shop, for cash and any cheques to add to this Just Giving page is set up for on-line donations.
We are aware everyone’s living costs are growing, but we do appreciate all the donations the community gives to acknowledge the work, time and effort, that goes into the tree for all to enjoy. Any excess donations after costs will be split between small, local groups in Levens.
Please give whatever you are able.
We hope you all enjoy the tree and send best wishes to everyone for a happy, peaceful, restful Christmas.
Helen, Michael, Paul & James
