Story

Lewis has been studying music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow since he was 7 and has been in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland for 5 years now. Up until last year Lewis had been receiving funding through the arts grant provided by Falkirk Council until it was cut. This leaves fees of £3500 per year for the next 3 years to be covered to allow Lewis to continue. Without fundraising there is a real chance that he won't be able to continue. It's unfortunate that councils don't see the importance of supporting young musicians anymore and I'd plead with you to help us realise Lewis' dream of being a professional musician.

Recently he entered The Young International Tuned Percussion competition in London where he came joint second with an Italian boy. For his age category this now sees him 1st in Britain for tuned percussion. His plan for the near future is to enter the BBC Young Musician of the Year, the Rotary Music Competition and the Colin Curry Competition at the RCS. In the end he'd love to be a professional performer but this will require funding for the best tuition Scotland has at the RCS. No matter how small your donation we'd be very grateful for any help. Lewis has also started teaching others to help contribute to his lessons and of course we too are continuing to support him as much as we can.
