Story

Hi. My name is Lewis I am a 16 year old boy with High Functioning Autism from Northamptonshire. In the summer of 2019 I am planning on travelling out to Cambodia with Camps International for 4 weeks. As well as this being a massive personal challenge, Whilst out there, I will be participating in many projects that will benefit the local people. These projects will include building schools or houses, teaching English to children, building water systems, health care and helping sustain the environment and also to help protect the wildlife.

This unique opportunity allows me to gain extra UCAS points (equivalent to an A at AS Level) through a special course i will complete throughout the duration of the expedition.

There a 4 main areas of focus on this trip: Community, Environment, Wildlife and Adventure.

Community consists of building schools or houses and teaching English to the children.

Environment consists of helping to conserve the environment in which the locals live in.

Wildlife consists of protecting the wide range of animals that live there.

Adventure consists of completing an open water diving course (scuba diving) that will allow me to gain my PADI - a well known and recognisable award.

However, the total cost of the trip is £4050 !!

Throughout the next year I will be arranging lots of different events that you can take part in that will help me to raise the money to make this experience possible.

I thank you in advance for any and all help towards my trip.
