Story
This page was created on behalf of Lewis Griffiths in order to raise money for Big Steps for Sienna and Bowel Cancer UK.
The Glyndwr Walkway is one of the least travelled national paths and stretches from Knighton, on the English border, to Welshpool via Machynlleth. In doing this it traverses some of the wilder hills and moorlands of mid Wales. The path is named after the famous Welsh prince Owen Glyndwr, who ruled Wales, in defiance of the English crown, in the early 1400s.
It is a total of 135 miles and will take 10 days.
Lewis Griffiths has been planning to walk this route for several years but Covid and family illness intervened. Now in August 2021, he is attempting the walk, camping along the way. He has has decided to use this walk as a fund raising opportunity for two charities: Bowel Cancer UK and to raise money for Big Steps for Sienna
He will be posting a daily blog of his walk this can be found on his Facebook page. Please consider supporting him in his endeavours to raise funds for these two deserving causes.
He has now created a blog:
