Why I'm Raising This Money

Every year, 4,000 men in the UK take their own lives. That’s around 12 men every single day.

I can't accept that as just another statistic. Behind each number is a son, a brother, a father, a mate — and the impact of their loss ripples through families, friendships, and entire communities. Too often, men are left feeling isolated, unheard, and unsupported. I want to help change that.

Starting July 12th 2025, I'm taking on a challenge to run 12km every day for 365 days — one kilometre for every man we lose each day — to raise awareness, start more conversations, and raise funds for organisations that are actually making a difference where it matters most.

I’m splitting the funds raised across a group of grassroots charities and CICs (Community Interest Companies) that are doing incredible, hands-on work to support men’s mental health, build community, and break the stigma around asking for help. They are:

Two Pints Deep (Charity No. 1212015)

MANUP? (Charity No. 1195085)

The Proper Blokes Club (C.I.C.)

Well Run Brum (C.I.C.)

The Foundry (C.I.C.)

And More Post Goal

These are organisations I believe will use every penny to have a real, lasting impact — bringing men together, creating spaces to talk, and offering support to those who need it most.

I’m not just running for numbers. I’m running for change. For conversations. For lives.

Thank you for backing me on this journey. Let’s make a difference — together.

Full transparency: I'm one of the directors of The Foundry CIC. I'm proud to be part of a team that's working every day to create spaces where men feel welcome, valued, and supported — but I know firsthand that we, like the others listed here, rely on community support to keep going and growing.
