My name is Lexie Thomas. I am a sixth form student at Littleover Community School in Derby.
I am trying to raise money for the charity 'Child Africa'. This is an ongoing project with the aim of providing education for children in Uganda, who would not otherwise have access to it.
I have enrolled in an expedition for 2 weeks in July 2017 to travel to Uganda and help with various, much needed projects. These include building a perimeter fence around the school, work on a vegetable garden and work with groups of students in class and organising sports days.
Future plans also include helping to build and stock a library, renovation of buildings and painting new buildings as they are constructed.
This is an extremely worthwhile charity and life changing to the students we help.
To make a real difference to these children's future the costs involved, from travel to equipment and resources are considerable. Due to this, I am actively trying to raise funds to ensure this expedition is a huge success in helping the children as much as possible in the short time I am able to spend there.
I shall be doing various fundraising activities throughout the year and I would be extremely grateful for you to support me in helping this charity in any way you can, whether it be a donation to this Just Giving page (however small), donating raffle prizes, sponsoring our trip, donation of any sporting or educational equipment, or helping this worthy cause in any other way you're able to.
