Story
Over the course of the November lockdown, as a team we will be trying to run/walk/cycle the distance covered by travelling from our home club to 10 different county grounds across England and Wales (Chester-le-street, Headingley, Old Trafford, Trent Bridge, Edgbaston, Cardiff, Ageas Bowl, The Oval, Lords). This is a total of 700 miles on average (walk/car), or 1130km.
All monies raised will be split between Derian House Children's Hospice and Leyland Cricket Club.
Derian House is a local charity who provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people across the North West. This care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They never close to those that need them. As a charity, Derian House usually run a large number of fundraising events to fund a large amount of the work they do, but during the Coronavirus pandemic they have struggled to host events. Therefore, we are wanting to help support them to deliver their fantastic services to young people within our community.
Leyland Cricket Club is a cricket club with 5 senior teams, 2 women's teams, 2 junior girls teams and 7 junior sides. This year has hit all sports clubs up and down the country, so we are just wanting to give a little bit back to our club. We appreciate all the support we receive and will share our success on and off the field in the forthcoming season.
