Story
Oliver Geddes was more than a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter. He was a respected referee, a dedicated coach, and an inspiring presence in the BJJ-community worldwide. His passion for the sport and his generosity towards others left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Tragically, on 29 July 2025, Oliver passed away after a courageous battle with bowel cancer. Even during his illness, his thoughts were for others - especially for the gyms and communities that make Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so special.
In accordance with Oliver’s wishes, the Oliver Geddes Foundation will be established. Our mission is to support martial arts gyms facing financial hardship due to illness, unforeseen circumstances, or other challenges. We want to provide more than just a short-term solution: alongside financial assistance, we will offer advice and guidance on gym management, helping to create a lasting, stable future for these vital community spaces.
By donating to this cause, you are helping us carry forward Oliver’s legacy - a legacy of resilience, generosity, and unwavering dedication to the sport he loved.
Together, we can keep the mats open, the community strong, and Oliver’s spirit alive.
