I'm raising £750 to support the production of a mural in solidarity with Palestinians

Story

The relentless suffering of Palestinians casts a dark shadow over our democracies and on the future of international justice.

On the walls of Tilbury Square, Leyton, a large mural paint engaging with the humanity and legitimacy of the persecuted people of Palestine is a message of hope. Hope that together we can show solidarity to Palestinians, loudly oppose the genocide in Gaza and support their freedom.

Tim Sanders is a local artist who has traveled to the West Bank on numerous occasions. With your support, he will create a painted mural, evocative of a peaceful Palestinian life, incessantly abused by the occupying powers. Have a look at his work featured on the page.

We need to raise money to support the production of this mural.

We want this to be a mural from the community, so we are asking for support to cover the costs of the production:

• Paint: £200

• Painting materials: £50

• Artist fee: £300

• Fundraiser event materials: £200

All donations above the production budget of £750 (and if there is any underspend on the budget itself) will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians (Registered Charity 10445315).

Launch Event

Tilbury Square is a vibrant expression of the Leyton community. Under railway arches, Chop Shop Tavern has been a welcoming figure in supporting this mural and together, we will also host a fundraising launch event on Sunday 12th October.

The launch event will be an opportunity to bring the community together, to celebrate the solidarity efforts all around us and to raise further funds in aid of Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Details will be updated on this page soon, we hope you will join us!
