My name is Liam Birkett, and I’m the Rough Sleeper Navigator for Calico Enterprise in the Lancaster District

Every day I walk the streets around the Lancaster District meeting people who have lost so much. their homes, their safety, their health, and sometimes their hope. I listen to their stories, I sit with them in their darkest moments, and I do everything I can to help them find a way forward.

𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈:

Some people in our district have no choice but to face the cold, the fear, and the loneliness night after night.

So I’m choosing to do something small, but meaningful.

I will be sleeping out on the streets of 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 for one night on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: with Shaun and Gaz from the HEP-C trust, and others.

I’ am fundraising for West End Impact in Morecambe

West End Impact are heroes to so many. They give warmth, food, safety, support with addiction and mental health, and — most importantly — a sense of belonging to people who feel forgotten.

I’ve seen people walk through their doors broken… and leave feeling human again.
