Hello, were an NCS group from Preston whose goal is to make a difference in the local community.
The idea for our campaign started when we visited Liggard Court which is a Progress Housing Group in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire who cater for those of 55 years and above to provide better housing and support individuals. When we were there they told us about the outside area that was unused and we decided to lend a helping hand.
The aim of our campaign is to restore a summer house for the residents of Liggard Court who unfortunately don't use the summer house because it is cold, dark and generally not a nice place to spend time together. Hopefully, if we receive enough funding through different methods of campaigning we can furbish, re-decorate and make it more welcoming for the elderly. The reason that Progress Housing Group need our help is because they, unfortunately, have had their funding cut by the government meaning that projects like ours are a special opportunity for the elderly residents.
