Story
.....
I am Steph, a close family friend of Liam and his family. I have known Liam’s family since I was a little girl and all I can say is what an incredible, kind, thoughtful family who would do anything for anyone when needed without hesitation.
Liam is a young, loving, Liverpool mad football fan from Jersey who at the age of 13 has been diagnosed with Leukaemia, a form of cancer of the blood cells. Liam is a loved brother of 2 siblings and a fit, sporty young lad who loves nothing more than being outdoors and keeping active. Liam is excelling really well in school, doing his parents really proud winning awards, especially for his sport academics and was due to start year 9 this September.
After a few weeks of feeling unwell Liam attended a GP appointment to have blood tests, unknowing to him and his family he was already fighting this battle. Liam was quickly admitted to Jersey General Hospital where he required blood transfusions and anti-biotics before he could be flown to Southampton hospital to begin his now long journey of treatment.
Liam and his parents, Lisa and Andy are currently in Southampton hospital awaiting official diagnosis of what type of Leukaemia Liam is fighting. He is having a bone marrow biopsy and lumber puncture so they can determine this. Liam is undergoing lots of tests to also ensure the correct treatment and care plan is put in place for him and is due to start chemotherapy on Friday 9th September.
Lisa and Andy have left behind 2 other children Morgan aged 16 and Ryan aged 12 with their grandparents, their beloved dog, Mirren and their family home and also their full time jobs whilst both being in Southampton to support Liam through this journey not knowing when they will return to Jersey. They are currently being told 6-9 months at this moment. This is of course causing a lot of stress and anxiety for Lisa and Andy causing financial pressures as they have bills to pay and a family to support, so we have set up this go fund me page in the hope to raise some funds to help them live comfortably in Southampton hospital and support their family during this particularly difficult time.
The funds raised will mean the world to Liam and his family and be used as support for the whole family in a number of ways (financial stability, medical bills etc) meaning they can focus solely on Liam and his treatment and getting him better and back home where he belongs, out running, playing football and riding his bike everywhere with his younger brother, Ryan.
Throughout all this, Liam has had a smile on his face and been a true champ! He has said, when he is better and home he will be doing all he can for teenage cancer charities including running, charity football matches and donating back all he can 💙
Thankyou for reading Liam’s story. This page will be kept updated throughout Liam’s journey. Positive thoughts and prayers during this time are appreciated by all whom know and adore Liam.
On behalf of Liam, Lisa, Andy, Morgan, Ryan, family and friends we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this wonderful family during this truly difficult time.
In the words of Liverpools biggest fan,
