DARCYS FIGHT AGAINST LYMPHOMA.

This is Darcy, a beautiful, amazing and courageous 11 year old who has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma.

A blood cancer that has around 70 cases diagnosed in the UK each year.

After finding a lump in her neck in December, Darcy was referred for bloods and an ultrasound, where she was advised that an immediate biopsy was required. Then followed the telephone call to go to Morriston Hospital - where it was confirmed that they suspected blood cancer, and that Darcy had been referred to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital oncology team.

Noah’s Ark quickly got Darcy into theatre to remove the lump, and the biopsy from the lump was confirmed to be Hodgkins Lymphoma 💔

Darcy and her family will face a tough battle over the coming months whilst Darcy undergoes chemotherapy to kill the cancerous cells left in her body, and we do not want them to face this fight alone.

She is particularly sad about losing her beautiful hair, and we want to help her on her road to recovery in any way that we can. Lots have already reached out offering support and donations to help Darcy with wigs, tutoring and anything else she is going to need, so we thought it would make sense to have a page which can keep any fundraising together and raise awareness for Lymphoma (given that Darcy’s only symptom was the lump in her neck).

This fund is for Darcy, and anything Darcy will need to help her through these tough times, and get her back to doing what 11 year olds should be doing.

Darcy is keen to raise money herself once she is out the other side and feeling well enough, to give back to the hospitals and charities that are helping them through an incredibly difficult time.
