I am dedicated to raising funds for Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue & Protection. Four years ago the Desmonds moved to Liberia to care for laboratory chimps abandoned & left to starve by The New York Blood Center.

It is illegal to kill chimps for bushmeat &/or have a 'pet' chimp, however, there was nowhere to 'home' orphan chimps, so they were left with their captors. When news of the Desmonds arrival reached the law enforcers, they started to work together to confiscate illegally owned baby chimps & bring them to the Desmonds ~ Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue & Protection was born, as of March 2020 there are SIXTY chimps in their care. August 2019 saw the first ever prosecution.

They do not have proper facilities for the chimps ~ they afterall were not the reason the Desmonds went to Liberia. We are working to not only feed the orphans, but to also build a sanctuary !!

The work has started, but there is still money needed, so I HOPE you will buy some raffle tickets to support the work of Jimmy (a vet) & Jenny Desmond & their team of dedicated care givers.
