I've raised £500 to help create a library for disabled children at Shigharo Primary School in Kenya

Kenya has a high level of youth unemployment, reaching nearly 50% in Taita Taveta alone. Therefore, our volunteers are working with the youth on employability and entrepreneurship to equip them with skills to access both formal and informal employment. Our work with VSO and young people is based in local schools and polytechnics.
During our visits to one of these schools, we were deeply moved and impressed by Shigharo Primary School in the Wundanyi sub-county and wanted to support the school. Shigharo Primary School is one of the few schools which has a dedicated programme to educate children with special needs. In order to help this school, we are organising a book drive to create a library to help both the pupils and the teachers improve their learning outcomes and instill a reading culture at Shigharo Primary School.
We are raising money to buy school books, novels and disability-friendly books. We will also buy shelves and paint to make the library a place all the children will want to make the most of.
£5 will buy a textbook and made a huge difference to a child's life. Please give what you can and I will make sure to update you on our progress.
