    Story

Can I start by saying thank you for taking the time to read on.
My daughter and I are trying to raise money for her to take part in the 2019 World Scout Jamboree.
My daughter is only 13 years old but has already had to deal with some real challenges and yet still manages to make me proud every day with how kind, caring, creative and considerate she is to the people and nature around her.
Without going into everything I would like to help you see why my daughter deserves your support. To start with her mother's found it hard to be a good mother so I raised my daughter on my own.As she's grown up she's aways had a creative and radiating personality. But sadly in year 7 all the things that make her unique and special were focus on by some peers and they started to bully her. So much so that it shattered her confidence and self belief. Then in 2016, aged 11, she had a brain trauma which caused her to lose some of her speach and control of the right side of her body. This was incredibly scary for her and me both and she had to be rushed up to bristol for surgery. Amazingly, after 4 weeks she wanted to be back at school even though she was not fully recovered. Sadly the bullying continued and with the brain trying to recover the emotion damage had become too much and I had to change her school.
In her new school things seem to have improved. But the knock in confidence and hightened anxiety are still very present and affect her everyday life. And the brain surgery has massively affected her mental and physical stamina making everyday even harder still.Though she never fusses.
So, as you can see, she's had a lot going on and this acceptance in being 1 of 6 Plymouth children offered the chance of the 2019 WSJ could be a huge help with her self confidence. But it is a massive amount for one person to raise. But it could truly change this child's life. She also plans to do a weekly litter pick on beaches/streets near by to raise awareness of pollution and help nature.
