People are waiting too long for counselling support on the NHS and are often prevented from getting the full benefit from therapy because they can't fit into it's tight constraints. We operate a free counselling support agency run by volunteers to help people when they need it most. We can offer practical support, one to one counselling, arts and crafts and Reiki amongst other things, with refreshments and a smile. Our aim is to encourage well-being in the individual by giving them the tools to maintain it themselves. We meet once a week in a group setting but also offer online support in between sessions via social media. We are looking for funding to help pay for not just the running costs like the counsellors supervision (all counsellors need supervision to be able to work), art and craft supplies, bookkeeping costs and insurance but also we need a laptop and printer to make running Lifeboat more efficient.
