My son, Llewie Pavis was born on March 11th 2016.
At 3 days old, Llewie became very ill and was later diagnosed with hirschsprungs disease; something that only one in five thousand children in the UK are born with. This condition meant that part of his bowel had not formed any nerves and he is more susceptible to serious bowel infections.

At six weeks old, Llewie had an operation to remove part of his bowel.
After a tense morning of waiting for him to come out of theatre, the surgeon came down to say that Llewie had been taken to the Intensive Care Unit because he had seizures while being bought out of anaesthesia. He remained in ICU for 6 days on life support and had seizures in clusters for days.
10 days after the operation, we were told that an MRI scan had shown that Llewie's brain had been starved of oxygen during the operation and as a result he had severe brain damage. The scan had shown that 80% of his brain had been effected and as a result, he will need 24hr care for the rest of his life. He may be unable to walk or talk and have epilepsy but finally after 2 months in hospital I could take home my baby boy.

An average day for us now consists of 6 doses of anti seizure and stomach calming medication, almost constant appointments and therapies, as well as being on 24hr watch for seizures.
So far, Llewies diagnosis due to his brain damage is visual impairment, a weakness on his left side and high muscle tone in his legs.

In order to give Llewie the best chance I have and taken him to additional therapies and classes. The difference in his abilites after these sessions is incredible, after just one session he was able to weight bare on his arms- however, they do not come cheap and I am unable to fund them on my own which is why I am asking you to please donate, no matter how small.
