We believe every child deserves the chance to understand their past and begin to heal.

That’s why we’ve launched a bold mission: to support 300 children through Life Story Direct Work & Therapeutic Life Story Work, and to train 6,500 parents, carers, and practitioners in effective Life Story Work.

Too many children are missing out on the support they need to make sense of their story. We’re here to change that—one story at a time.

Life Story Work is a powerful, therapeutic approach for children who’ve experienced trauma such as abuse, neglect, and separation from family. These children often carry deep emotional wounds, unanswered questions, and painful memories. Without support, they may blame themselves, feel confused about who they are, or struggle to trust others.

Life Story Work helps them begin to heal. It gives them space to explore what happened, understand that it wasn’t their fault, and begin to build a more hopeful future. It helps children turn pain into meaning—and confusion into clarity.

But children can’t do this alone. The adults around them—parents, carers, and professionals—need to be equipped with the tools and confidence to walk alongside them. That’s why training is a vital part of our mission: to ensure every child is supported by someone who understands how to help them make sense of their story.
