In the early hours of Sunday morning, 26th September, a freak lightning strike struck the roof of my friend’s flat causing it to be set on fire. Fortunately, my friend was not there at the time and only found out that she had lost everything by being woken up by concerned friends calling her, who had seen photos of her flat ablaze on the local news and in social media.

She now literally only has the clothes on her back, having lost the entire contents of her flat. As well as being understandably in shock, she will now have to live in a hotel for the forseeable future and begin to build back up to having all the things she has worked so hard to get.

I understand that times are hard but please donate what you can, even if it’s the price of a coffee, it will all help to support my friend through this most unfortunate, unsettling and unpredictable event.
