I've raised £3000 to buy torches for the rangers working at night guarding animals and staff in Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve, Malawi

Vwaza Marsh Reserve in Malawi is home to hundreds of elephants, as well as hippos and other precious wildlife. Park rangers like George work tirelessly to protect these incredible animals, as well as the people who monitor them, safe. Unbelievably, they have no torches, despite the constant risk of encounters with poachers, snakes and scorpions during their night patrols on foot.
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world: average salaries are less than £2.50 a day. So there is no resource to equip them properly. With your support, we will provide each ranger with a head torch together with solar recharging equipment. We will also supply ultra-violet torches will let them check their tents for scorpions - these animals glow bright blue undwr UV light. Scorpion stings are the main reason why bush excursions must be abandoned, so this simple measure will have a big impact.
Please help the rangers to stay safe and protect the elephants.
