Story
We need to raise £2000 to switch on the Christmas Lights in Southwold on Saturday 28th November 2026. We're a community group called Light Up Southwold. We organise and raise the money for the Christmas Lights in Southwold and we need your help.
Switch On Saturday is a fabulous, family-friendly, community event attended by thousands of local people and it's totally free! The local shops will be open with a street market for Christmas gifts, crafts, food and drink. We'll provide entertainment in the Market Place during the afternoon provided by local schools, pantomime group, performers, dancers and the Wrentham Band. East Suffolk Donkey Sanctuary will be with us again allowing families to meet their gentle, rescue donkeys. Santa Claus will parade down the High Street to switch on the lights from the Town Hall. And there'll be a free grotto in the Adnams Tour Centre, where children can meet Santa after the lights are switched on.
It's due to the generosity of people like you that we can provide this event totally free of charge. If you have enjoyed the Southwold Christmas Lights in the past or are thinking of joining us this year, then please make a donation so that we can safeguard the future of this wonderful event.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, we will withdraw funds directly. It's the most efficient way to donate and saves time and costs.
