Story
We would love our non verbal 14 year old daughter, to be able to communicate. Our daughter, is profoundly disabled through a rare genetic disorder called CDKL5. She is non verbal, and unable to sign. as she cannot move her hands well. Lately, she is also unable to sit, even aided due to hip and gut pain. She loves her TV more than anything, and we thought, having a tobii eyegaze would help her communicate. However, funding in this area is small, so it is looking to be unlikely that she would be loaned this equipment. Many children with CDKL5 have done well with the Tobii eyegaze, so we would love to give her a chance of being heard via this, even if it is to create her own drawings. We looked into the cost of buying one ourselves, and were astonished to see how costly it was, as anything suited to special needs is. We therefore want to try to raise funds for her, to give her some communication, and a better quality of life. We would fund the extra needed to get this and any other software or accessories, including a decent windows 10 tablet, which is needed to run one of the programmes, we think would be good for her. This programme has many different themes including splat painting. The money raised, including the money we put in, will be used to get an eye tracker, tracker dots, a stand for the laptop, a laptop, and different types of software. Thank you
