I've raised £400 to provide desperately needed food and water as well as items of hygiene for women and children around Mytillini on Lesbos Island, Greece

I recently volunteered near Moria Detention centre for Refugees arriving on Lesbos Island at Mytillini, new arrivals are continuously struggling with overcrowding in and outside the former ex-military buildings, with lack of food, water, electricity and sanitation and suitable shelter.
I saw the devastation in the Camp surroundings and around the boundaries where women and children can‘t enjoy the basics we take for granted, i.e taking a shower, cooking and sharing foods with families, staying warm, sleeping under secure shelters in cold and rainy weather and to wear clean clothes. Very little or no access to medical care and advice about their situations and what is going to happen to them or has happened to their families.
These problems are exacerbated as Refugees are accepted by the Government to remain as Refugees in the country but there are massive delays in providing support in housing, money for food, clothes, school places and Nursery provision for their children and the possibility of adults getting work to provide for themselves and their families. Greece is experiencing massive financial difficulties for their own citizens so please if you can help in a small way to donate, this will be hugely appreciated. Thank you
