    Story

The Lillian's Law Trust is named after Lillian Groves. Lillian was just 14 year’s old when she was brutally killed outside her family home by a drugged driver in 2010 and on 7th June 2017 she would have been 21.

We marked this occasion by holding a Fundraising Dinner and Dance in support of bereavement and grief counselling. This was the opportunity to remember Lillian and to recognise the success of Lillian’s Law.

Lillian's Law saw the introduction of road side drug testing on 2nd March 2015. Since then over 35,000 people have been tested and there have been over 11,000 convictions/arrests.

When we lost Lillian we were so overwhelmed by grief that none of us knew how we could ever carry on. The bereavement counselling we were give was invaluable to us.

In October 2016 our family were awarded and honoured with a Pride of Britain Special Recognition Award. This was undoubtedly a fitting tribute to Lillian's short life and all those who knew her and have supported us on our journey. We are still continuing on our journey without her in our lives without your help this would be much harder.

Our chosen charity we will be donating to is

The Dove Service in Staffordshire who will receive £500
We also donated £460 to the HEMS London Air Ambulance who provide world class trauma care immediately after injury, both inside and outside the hospital.

The money we raise will provide counselling sessions, supporting vulnerable children and young people to manage their grief in a positive way.

Grief will effect us all at some point in our lives. It's not an illness and there is no cure. Your donation no matter how small will make a huge difference in helping others to overcome the pain and suffering grief causes.

Thank you from The Groves family

Thank you for donating to our just giving page. Today 7th June is Lillian's 21st birthday. Its a difficult day to mark especially as she had some hopes and dreams of what and how she would celebrate this milestone age with her family and friends. However that was not meant to be. If you knew Lillian then the best birthday wish or present you could give is to donate instead. In her name your donation will help a child or young person through their grief. We can only give Lillian our love and flowers now. HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY
