Story

I am raising £500 for the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in memory of my gramps, who was recently cared for by this incredible team. During his final week, the AAU staff went above and beyond to support not only him but the entire family. They made sure that we were all as comfortable as possible, given the difficult circumstances we were facing. Their compassion and dedication truly made a difference in those precious final moments.

As a small way of showing our gratitude, I have decided to walk the West Highland Way (Milngavie to Fort William), followed by a hike to the top of (Ben Nevis) to raise funds for this amazing team. It’s my way of saying "thank you" for the care and kindness they showed, and of giving something back to help support the vital work they do.

This walk is more than just a fundraising effort—it’s a heartfelt tribute to my grandpa, and to the wonderful staff who made such a challenging time a little bit easier. Every step I take will be in honour of the care they gave to him and to all the families they serve.

Thank you for any support you can offer.
