My name is Lily Blackwell, I'm currently in year 11 at the Warriner School. I have been given the amazing opportunity to take part in a life changing 4 week expedition to Peru in summer 2019. The team will be providing aid to communities in extreme need of help. Examples of projects I will be doing with the team are listed below-

-School Feeding Project: The community of Kajilarakay is extremely poor with no basic sanitation or sewerage and a lack of clean drinking water. There is also a shortage of crops leading to malnutrition. The team will work on the school kitchen and greenhouse in order to provide a hygienic place to prepare meals.

-School Improvement: The remoteness and inaccessibility of the region Titicaca means that there is little or no help available from surrounding regions. We will build community facilities and a classroom for villagers, as well as restoring the school greenhouse

-Schools Improvement: The community of Pinchollo sits 3,600m above sea level. Due to the environment, they are very poor so we will be helping on long term projects to improve local life.

I would be extremely grateful to receive any donations which will enable me to take part in this incredible opportunity. Over the next 19 months, I will be arranging many fundraising activities such as film nights, fun runs and various physical activities (completely out of my comfort zone lol), as well as securing sponsorship.
