Story
My name is Lily-mae and I am 10 years old. I have just had a Medtronic Linq (loop) fitted in my chest as you can see. Its ok I am recovering well. In the past 2 years i have had 2 fainting episodes and 1 small seizure. Up till a few months ago the Dr's thought I may be a 'JUST' a fainter as I am a very active healthy 10 year old.
Summer this year 2021 while out playing on my trampoline I had chest pains, I have had a few pains in my chest while running around at school and have had them a few times while jumping on the spot, I also sometimes had trouble catching my breath even if I hadn't t been running around. My mum took me to another Dr and he did an ECG and found I had borderline prolong QT and this could be the reason I have be Fainting. My heart has a little fault and could cause it to stop beating causing (CARDIAC ARREST). I have carried a Defibrillator around with me ever since, as if my heart stops and does not restart I would need it to be re-started with a defibrillator.. Without these amazing pieces of life saving equipment I would die.. I have looked around my local area and there does not seem to be many Defibrillator so I would like to raise as much money to have some put in areas where children and young people hang out.. My Local Primary school and My local High school as well as the local leisure centre. These are just a few places I will be hanging out a lot. I would also like to help have defibrillator fitted in other places like the local skate park and football/cricket club.
Please help me raise as much money as possible to reduce the rate of sudden cardiac arrest in the young. Help me make a difference.
48 people under the age of 35 die each month in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions many without any prior conditions.
