I have for the past 24 months watch my sister really struggle, having to pay her rent and bills as well as feed her children. I know there has been many of occasions where she goes without food to ensure that her children can eat. As a sister I help them out as much as I possible can, but I also have my own family who have sacrificed having things so that we can help my sisters family out. Two years ago we decided for her to be able to afford things for the house and the kids to have their own things and a bedroom that she could get things on our Argos account and pay for them on a weekly basis and get them in stages so she did. She got a sofa, fridge freezer, dining table and chairs, three beds, three wardrobes and three sets of drawers. Everything was looking up and the wardrobes and draws had not got round to being put up. During this time she had started a hairdressing course( she finished today with full distinction across the board)and I would watch her children so she could do something for their future. However for the last 12 months she has been infested by rodents that have eaten their way through all the furniture in the boxes and even the beds that had been managed to be put up. After a good six month of dispute with her local council they finally got the pest control out(1st time not charging it to her)the guy has been coming out for three months and finally believes from what he has seen that in fact it is an infestation of rats. Which is now being treated and seems to be under control and monitored by the pest control 1-2 weekly. Which is fantastic. Despite this now finally being sorted out I have nieces and nephews who have no where to store their clothes and due to my sister being a lone parent and very little spare money, saving to buys these will take her a while. I am asking if you are able to contribute regardless how small, please do because you can not comprehend what a difference 1 set of draws will make to her and her children. Thank you.
